Hi there! My name is Ron and I want to welcome you to Westiedog.com! I’m the one responsible for everything you find here, so if you see something that isn’t quite right, please send me a message and let me know. I promise that every effort will be made to correct any mistakes. I registered the Westiedog.com domain more than ten years ago. I didn’t plan on having a full-fledged website; I only wanted some place to manage email. I decided on the name Westiedog in honor of our first Westie, Scottie. Over the years, from time to time, I considered turning Westiedog into a public website, but work commitments kept me far too busy to pursue the project. After retirement, however, I found some spare time and decided to take on the challenge of creating a place where others could share their love of Westies (or any other pet), and the site you are visiting today was born. I create all of the content and manage the site, and my wife, Shirley, gives me her opinion on how everything looks. It has proven to be quite a challenge, both in terms of time and financially, but it has also been a joy to create what you see here. We are now on Westie number five and have learned a lot about the breed throughout the years. Nonetheless, Westiedog.com isn’t intended to be an authority on Westies or pets in general. It’s a collection of our experiences and things learned. The articles you find here are general in nature and you should always consult experts for detailed information, especially in matters of health. Your veterinarian is the expert, which is why you will always find our articles urging you to seek their advice. You will, however, find a few endorsements of other websites on the Links page. These are places we have personally visited and shopped at. Just click on the pointing Westie to be taken straight to the sites.
